ANOTHER STROKE.. AND NOW ALZHEIMER'S
It was a wonderful day, until I picked up Bob at daycare.
I took one look at Bob and I just knew he had had another stroke. So, I took him to the emergency room. We sat there for hours and he had a lot of test and the doctors could not be sure that he had a stroke.
Over the hours that we were at the emergency room, he regained some of his strength. I took him to the neurologist a few days later.
The neurologist very gently asked me why I took him to the emergency room since I already knew that they couldn’t do anything for him.
Since I already had a session with the Memory clinic we took advantage of the opportunity. He has progressed from vascular dementia to middle stage Alzheimer’s disease.
The woman at the clinic asked a lot of questions and from that that Bob has probably had dementia since 2008 or 2009.
That explained a lot of things: the times he got lost near our house, while driving the car or scraping the side of the car.
What devastating news.
